Recommended

Desktop application

Best for most users. It packages the runtime and normally opens the local interface automatically.

No separate Java install documented.

Standalone

Native image

A smaller native executable for the operating system listed in the release asset.

No separate Java install documented.

Portable Java

Executable JAR

For users who already maintain a Java environment and prefer the JAR distribution.

Requires Java 25 or newer.

Before you start

  1. Download only from the repository linked on this page.
  2. Extract the desktop package when the release notes require it.
  3. On Linux, make the downloaded launcher executable if necessary.
  4. Start FM26, load your save, then launch FM AI Assistent as the same user.
chmod +x "FM AI Assistent"
# or for the native image
chmod +x fm-ai-assistent
./fm-ai-assistent

Using the JAR

java -jar fm-ai-assistent.jar

The interface normally uses http://127.0.0.1:8080. If that port is busy, the app chooses the next available port and records it in the startup log.
